Tune-Yards

Rounding up the latest release news…

Put in the shade a bit by Coldplay’s shock LP reveal yesterday was US multi-artist Merill Garbus, who makes colourful un-pop under the assumed name Tune-Yards (pictured), and who revealed that her first LP since 2011’s raucous ‘W H O K I L L’ will have the title ‘Nikki Nack’. She’ll pair its release on 5 May with a European tour, which includes just the one UK show at London’s Village Underground on 12 May. To kill some time in the interim, flip through this sampler of all the songs on the album:

In addition, Klaxons have taken the lid off their new LP, ‘Love Frequency’, which will drop on 2 Jun. Having tuned it up over the course of 2013, roping in Gorgon City, Erol Alkan, James Murphy and Tom Rowlands as co-producers, the group will workshop it during a short four-date tour of the UK, starting 31 Mar at the Hare & Hounds in Birmingham. Preceding that on 30 Mar is the release of the band’s new AA-side single ‘There Is No Other Time/Children Of The Sun’. Stream it here:

And now, Arctic Monkeys, who’ve thrown down a new video from their lofty post on the top of the pop sludge-pile. ‘Arabella’, a joint off the Monkeys ‘AM’ LP, is coming out as a single on 10 Mar. In the meantime here it is represented in an NSFW clip:

Finally, a cool visual with lots of formation hip hop dancing in it, for futuro-funk group Jungle‘s first single for XL Recordings, ‘Busy Earnin’, which is out now. Busy yourself watchin it (and Jungle’s previous vids for ‘The Heat’ and ‘Platoon’, which are quite good also) now:
