Hip hop unit Run The Jewels, aka rapper Killer Mike and producer El-P, have released a free new track as part of Adult Swim’s singles series. Its name is ‘Oh My Darling Don’t Cry’, and it features the robot voice of ‘Police Academy’ actor Michael Winslow.
Cop it ere:
Separately to that, RTJ will on 27 Oct release their latest LP, ‘RTJ2’, either as a digital freebie, or at cost in all the physical formats. Get details and the eventual links to get it via www.runthejewels.net, and stand well back to catch an excitable statement of thanks from Mike and El-P.
Which excitable statement of thanks? This excitable statement of thanks: “HOLY FUCKING SHIT THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING RUN THE JEWELS A SUCCESS. We are humbled that you have supported us and our music. All of you. Those who bought it, those who got it for free and came to a show… all of you. Truly. You turned a free record with little to no promotion in to something bigger than we ever expected. The shows have been amazing, the interactions with all of our supporters just as great. It’s because of this that we can honestly promise to keep giving you that raw shit as long as we can. Thank you thank you thank you”.
And talking of amazing RTJ shows, those on the horizon in the UK and Ireland are as follows:
11 Dec: Manchester, Gorilla
12 Dec: London, Koko
21 Dec: Dublin, Opium Rooms
