By CMU Editorial | Published on Friday 12 August 2011
Singer-songwriter Ryan Adams has signed to Sony/Columbia Records, and EMI/Capitol in the US, for a new album entitled ‘Ashes & Fire’.
Due for a UK release on 10 Oct, his eighth solo LP will feature guest spots from Norah Jones and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench. Recording sessions took place at Hollywood’s Sunset Sound Factory with seasoned rock producer Glyn Johns, whose son Ethan produced Adams’ previous albums ‘Heartbreaker’, ‘Gold’ and ’29’.
Having done the US deal with Adams, Capitol/Virgin President Dan McCarroll issued this rousing statement: “All great records start with great songs. ‘Ashes & Fire’ will remind you why Ryan Adams is at the front of the line as one of his generation’s most gifted artists”.
