Sheffield Doc/Fest to show Pulp film
By Aly Barchi | Published on Wednesday 16 April 2014
A film titled ‘Pulp’, about the band Pulp, and in particular Jarvis and co’s comeback-come-homecoming 2012 show at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena, is going to have its first European showing at the 2014 edition of Sheffield Doc/Fest, opening the whole event on 7 Jun.
‘Pulp’ the movie, which first premiered at this year’s SXSW festival in Texas, clocks in at around 90 minutes, some of those minutes given over to live highlights of the Motorpoint gig, and some others to chats with the band, and its famous fans. Non famous fans, the ‘Common People’ I guess you’d say, also have a big part to play in the doc, and are featured throughout showing big love for Pulp.
‘Pulp’ director Florian Habicht, producer Alex Boden and the band, will all be present at the Sheffield Doc/Fest screening, after which the film is going to roll into selected cinemas nationwide.
