Skrillex label launches subscription service
By CMU Editorial | Published on Thursday 13 December 2012
Skrillex and the label he leads, OWSLA, has announced the launch of a subscription-based service which, for $12 a month, will offer members a stack of stuff, including early access to new releases, pre-sale of tickets to OWSLA events and exclusive downloads from new talent. The new digital fan-club-style venture will be called The Nest.
Says the poster boy of American dumb-step: “The Nest is another chance for us to get music out to the fans quicker and easier. It’s a step into the unknown future of music which is exciting, and it allows us to keep our fans up on fresh content and bring up some new artists we love”.
The new venture will be powered by previously reported direct-to-fan technologies company Drip.fm, which also powers the subscription service launched by Domino Records back in June.
