This column hasn’t featured a proper cosmic disco track since at least March so it’s high time last year’s genre du jour got plugged again, particularly something as excellent as Australia’s Loin Brothers, who firmly mark their territory with their debut release ‘Heavy Helmet’. All the elements of classic cosmic can be heard in the beat and staggered synths, which are topped with mid-80s ‘rawk’ guitar bits and a particular light summer flavour. 12′ buyers get a bonus with the even more cosmic Mock N’ Toof remix – an essential purchase for all DFA completists.
