Non-believers have been quick to declare the disco revival of 2008 all but over already, but while labels like Italians Do It Better continue to unearth gems like Nitejewel then the genre’s demise seems, at best, ill conceived. Still though, it would be wrong to lump Nitejewel’s lo-fi electro (via cosmic) into a pure disco category, what with the popping synths and drifting vocals of ‘Want You Back’ reaching far beyond that. For analogical sake, if I were ever to soundtrack the melting of glaciers, this would make it into the top 5.
