Approved: Reverie Sound Revue (SNAP Of The Day)
By CMU Editorial | Published on Tuesday 4 August 2009
Plucked from the same scene as fellow Canadians Broken Social Scene, Reverie Sound Revue have been creating their debut record since forming in 2002, splitting up midway through due to distance issues (the three members all live in different cities) then reforming to finally release it in June this year via indie Boompa Records. Taking cue from the delicate, sometimes eerie sounds of Electrelane, the songs rarely break into a canter, and when they do the pace change is signalled by a short explosion of the drummer’s hi-hat, only to be shortly smoothed over by Lobsinger’s honeyed vocals. And having vowed that they’ll never tour – again due to distance issues, which seems a flimsy excuse – the best way to listen is over at their MySpace, linked below.
