US independent publisher Songs Music Publishing has announced a worldwide co-publishing deal with Nelly. The deal covers some of the rapper’s existing works, including 2010 album ‘5.0’, as well as upcoming new album ‘MO’, and other future output.
Confirming the deal, Songs A&R man Ron Perry told CMU “Nelly has proven time and time again that he is one of the most consistent hit makers in contemporary music. He’s a rare artist who has been able to thrive across all genres and radio formats, working with artists who span the musical spectrum, from Tim McGraw to Janet Jackson to Florida Georgia Line”.
Meanwhile Songs boss Matt Pincus added: “Having an artist and songwriter of the calibre Nelly join the Songs family is both a tremendous honour and a big step towards our goal of being the world’s leading contemporary independent music publisher”.
