Sony/ATV extends deal with Avicii
By Chris Cooke | Published on Tuesday 17 September 2013
Sony/ATV has extended its co-publishing deal (which technically began with EMI Music Publishing, which Sony/ATV now administrates) with the ever popular Avicii, an alliance that covers all of the producer’s songs catalogue.
Confirming the deal renewal, Sony/ATV SVP A&R for Europe, Johnny Tennander, said of the EDM star: “The last few years have been an incredible ride and it’s been fantastic to see him take such important steps in his career. Avicii has developed so much musically since we started to work with him and he’s now breaking new grounds with his debut album”.
Meanwhile Avicii’s manager Ash Pournouri added: “Sony/ATV has closely followed our development into worldwide stardom and I’m glad they understand how to support us in what is best for Avicii’s continued career”.
