Streaming music phone network ROK Mobile launches in UK
By Chris Cooke | Published on Wednesday 5 August 2015
The mobile-network-with-music company ROK Mobile has launched in the UK, providing unlimited calls and texts, 4GB of data and a bespoke streaming service all for £24.99 a month. ROK n roll as they say. Well, I just said it.
ROK Mobile, which launched in the US last year, is one of those trendy ‘mobile virtual network operators’, tapping into the Three network to provide calls and internet connection in the UK. The music bit is powered by 7digital.
Confirming the UK launch, ROK Mobile Director James Kendrick told reporters: “We are very excited to be able to bring the first ever phone and music streaming package to the UK. ROK Mobile gives consumers all the benefits of a long term phone contract without all of the long term ties. The music service has a catalogue of over 20 million tracks that features the world’s best music from major and independent labels. ROK Mobile delivers the best possible mobile and music experience”.
Meanwhile 7digital CEO Simon Cole added: “We are delighted to be involved in the UK launch of ROK Mobile as we have worked with ROK in the US for a number of years and believe their service offers a great music experience for mobile users”.
