Stuart Cable dies
By CMU Editorial | Published on Monday 7 June 2010
Former Stereophonics drummer Stuart Cable has died. According to the BBC, emergency services found the body of a forty year old man at the musician and radio presenter’s Llwydcoed home at 5am this morning. There is no word yet on cause of death, though police have said there are no suspicious circumstances.
According to Wales Online, his eighty year old mother Mabel told reporters this morning: “Stuart has travelled all over the world with the band and I have worried myself silly. He is now settled down and then this has happens. It has not sunk in yet”.
Cable was pushed out of Stereophonics, the band he helped found, in 2003. He had since formed a new band, Killing For Company, who were due to play this weekend’s Download Festival. He had also developed a media career on the side, most recently presenting a rock show on BBC Radio Wales.
