SXSW – UK showcase guide

By | Published on Thursday 12 March 2009

Talking of music-festivals-come-conventions that take over whole cities for a few days, the meister of such things, South By Southwest, is getting very close, with periphery proceedings kicking off tomorrow no less.

For those of you packing your bags, printing out your flight tickets, desperately trying to remember where you safely stored your passport, and wondering just how much you can sneak onto expenses in these tough economic times, here is a guide to some of the SxSW showcases and parties and whatnot being staged by British (and Irish) magazines and organisations.

It might seem odd going all the way to Austin, Texas and then spending your time seeing mainly British bands who you could probably catch in Camden next month, but it’s good to fly the flag and all that, or perhaps you should go see bands from other countries but make sure you tell any foreigners you meet to check out these…
