Single Review: The Boy Least Likely To – Every Goliath Has Its David (Too Young To Die)
By CMU Editorial | Published on Monday 2 March 2009
‘There is nothing courageous about anything I do,’ intone the Boy Least Likely To on new track ‘Every Goliath Has Its David’. Jesus Christ – to maintain the biblical theme – he is not wrong; this is dull. The song is like ‘Mr Blue Sky’ being covered by an emasculated Granddaddy with a really pointless violin bit. When he says he has ‘puppy powers’, it makes me want to cut my wrists, because everyone hates Scrappy Doo. He’s a crap character in a great cartoon; I would have preferred a hardcore dog called Husker Doo. The lyrics from B-side ‘A Balloon On A Broken String’ are beyond the pale. The CD is now my new tea coaster. PG
