The Killers making tracks with M83
By Aly Barchi | Published on Friday 9 August 2013
Whilst The Killers aren’t exactly hastening to finish a new LP, it seems they have nevertheless made a start. Speaking to Radio.com backstage at last weekend’s Lollapalooza festival, the band said they’d written a perhaps releasable new track with M83’s Anthony Gonzalez, having been passed his name by a rep at their and Gonzalez’s shared label Island.
Specifically, Killers guitarist Dave Keuning said: “There was a mutual thing like, ‘Yeah we think he’s good. We’ll try him out’. It’s something we finally agreed with our label on. I think it will be a great single when it comes out”.
Re when that might be, he added: “I can’t promise a date, but I think we would like to release the song on some level though I don’t know how. I’m not saying a new album is going to come out or anything like that. But sometimes people just put out songs or it gets used for some kind of compilation. We’d like to get a new song out there soon”.
