The Killers to go on a break
By Aly Barchi | Published on Monday 11 November 2013
Well this is one ‘indefinite hiatus’ I can make my peace with, The Killers have confirmed they will take a break for a “little while”. The band’s Ronnie Vanucci revealed they’d be parting ways last week, adding that their appearance at the MTV EMAs this past weekend was their last planned live date.
Vanucci told The Hollywood Reporter: “I don’t think it will take an unnaturally long time for us to get together [again], but it’s time to take a breather and ground out a little bit… I think everybody is looking forward to putting their feet up for a little while and having some normalcy”.
Vanucci’s remarks don’t really come as a surprise; you’ve sensed for a while that the band were tiring of gigging and spending so much time together, what with guitarist Dave Keuning pulling out of the group’s tour last month and telling the NME: “I am sick of this. I’m done. The end is in sight. Some people might go, ‘Why are you complaining?’ But you haven’t done what I have done, so you can’t relate. We just toured a shitload”.
