The Kooks down, but not out

Ooh la, The Kooks have come back, with an in-your-face hip-hop track titled ‘Down’. It’s quite, um, ‘funky’. Kind of like Paolo Nutini in a particularly dirty and obnoxious mood. And it starts with Luke Kook howling, loudly, so listen out for that. You can’t miss it. And also of note, it has “looped hooks and crazy percussion” c/o hip hop producer Inflo.
“With this record we didn’t do any rehearsing beforehand. I’d write a song with Inflo or on my own, put it up and we’d all play over it. There was a real freedom to the process”, shrugs Luke.
