The ten most-read news stories on the CMU site in April 2014

April was a busy month for digital stories, as you’ll see from the list below. Coming up top was a report on Deezer’s expansion of its free offer and new partnership with Samsung.
Also making the top ten were Will.i.am’s smartwatch, the BBC’s online-only Eurovision radio station, the status of some of the files uploaded to MegaUpload, Beggars Group’s review of its current 50/50 streaming royalty split with artists, the removal of Vulfpeck’s silent album from Spotify, and the announcement that Glastonbury will have its own 4G network this year.
In addition to all that, popular last month on the CMU website were Skullcandy’s headphones for women (who knew that all headphones before now weren’t actually unisex?), Robbie Williams’ speech at this year’s Artist & Managers Awards, and the power of Tulisa’s brain.
Our most popular features last month were an interview with Nick Sabine and Ryan Keeling from Resident Advisor, a release round-up featuring Ed Sheeran and Lana Del Rey, a Beef Of The Week column on the backlash against Avril Lavigne’s latest music video, an Approved feature on Frida Sundemo, and an interview with WhoSampled’s James Hamlin.
