Thom Yorke writes to Father Christmas
By Andy Malt | Published on Tuesday 8 December 2015
Thom Yorke was one of a number of celebrities to write letters to Father Christmas for yesterday’s National Letter Writing Day.
“Dear Father Christmas”, begins Yorke, in the letter written for Letters Live and published by the NME. “It is years since I wrote to you. I hope this letter finds you well and that the snow is still continuing to fall up in Lapland. Here it is mostly rain. Not even jumper weather yet! But the Christmas albums are already being played in the shops. That must be so embarrassing for you”.
Although admitting that he has “sometimes failed spectacularly” to be good, he hopes that Santa will deliver him “a beautiful Christmas” for his children, “perhaps some heavy snow”, that he’ll “consider not giving any presents to oil company executives and the politicians whose influence they buy”, and that he might drop off “some reading glasses”.
So basically all the normal stuff we all ask for. Read the full letter here.
