Thurston Moore and Mica Levi to perform new music inspired by artist Christian Marclay
By Andy Malt | Published on Thursday 5 February 2015
Artist Christian Marclay has invited Thurston Moore and Mica Levi to perform new compositions written in response to one of his new pieces of art. And they both said yes, which must be a relief.
The performances will take place as part of Marclay’s new exhibition at the White Cube gallery in Bermondsey, and will see the two musicians perform alongside members of the London Sinfonietta. The music will “explore the sonorities of glass”. So that’s something to look forward to.
The Vinyl Factory will also oversee live recordings of both performances to vinyl, with limited edition copies on sale at The White Cube afterwards and through vfeditions.com.
If you want to be there to see it all happen, Thurston Moore’s performance will take place on 8 Feb (that’s this Sunday) and Levi’s the following week, 15 Feb. Further information here.
