Music PR firm Big Mouth Publicity has announced the recruitment of Tony Linkin, who previously worked with the agency’s founders Steve Phillips and Jakub Blackman at both East West Records and subsequently at Coalition PR.

Linkin took some away from the music business after Coalition PR was closed in 2009 following the death of its founder Rob Partridge, but has decided it’s now time to return to the music publicity game, in a consultant role with his old colleagues’ business.

Confirming his new role with Big Mouth, Linkin told CMU: “After the untimely death of Rob Partridge and the demise of Coalition PR I needed to take a breather and stretch my legs outside of PR. ‘I may be gone a while’, and I was, though not as Mick Jones said, ‘to become a monk’. [But] the grass isn’t always greener, and ultimately I missed the high highs and low lows of working as a PR. But it’s a small world and I have decided to re-enter the fray with my old muckers Steve and Jak, with the second half still to play”.
