Usher’s wife released from hospital after cardiac arrest
By CMU Editorial | Published on Thursday 19 February 2009
Usher’s wife Tameka Raymond has been released from the Sirio-Libanes hospital in Brazil after spending eleven days in the facility whilst recovering from a cardiac arrest.
Raymond, mother of the pop star’s two small children, suffered the arrest as she was being anaesthetised ahead of a liposuction operation at Sao Paulo’s Rafael Hospital.
Ellen Dastry, speaking on behalf of plastic surgeon Silvio Sterman, explained last week that Raymond was revived after less than a minute and placed in an induced coma and taken to the intensive care unit before being transferred to the aforementioned Sirio-Libanes facility to recover.
Usher, who missed a performance at a pre-Grammy party to join his wife as she recovered, has declined to comment on it all.
