Single Review: We Were Promised Jetpacks – Quiet Little Voices (FatCat)
By CMU Editorial | Published on Monday 4 May 2009
Bloody entertaining, that’s what this is. No nonsense sweeping rock with an indie punch to live up to the latest brilliant line of Scottish bands that include Glasvegas, Twilight Sad and Frightened Rabbit. All still painfully young, WWPJ are a band of exuberance and astonishment, delivering a raw perfomance of genuine emotion in a song that’s reminiscent of Biffy Clyro’s early, superior years. The hype seems to be going nationwide now, with the likes of Zane Lowe and NME rightfully touting the band as ones to watch. ‘Quiet Little Voices’ fulfills an early promise and whets the appetite for their first full-length work. These boys won’t be quiet for long. TM
