White Noise’s Dave Vorhaus to discuss career and perform live in London next month
By Andy Malt | Published on Wednesday 4 February 2015
If you’ve never heard White Noise’s early electronic music album ‘An Electric Strom’, I urge you to go and do so at the earliest opportunity. It’s very good. I should probably warn you about the orgasm sections of ‘My Game Of Loving’ though, because no one did that for me before I played it loudly in an office. Try the crying or screaming sections that come on later tracks, maybe. Am I selling this to you?
The project was the creation of David Vorhaus, who was initially joined by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop’s Delia Derbyshire and Brian Hodgson (they are credited as providing “electronic sound realisation”, with Derbyshire also listed as co-writer on two tracks).
I’m telling you all of this because Vorhaus will be in London next month for a live performance and to take part in a panel discussion.
Both events are presented by Noise Of Art, and will take place on 13 Mar. At 6pm at Rough Trade East, Vorhaus will be joined by French electronic pioneer Bernard Szajner, aka Z, to discuss their careers with music journalist Jennifer Lucy Allen. Which is pretty exciting.
White Noise, currently consisting of Vorhaus and Mike Painter, will then headline a show at The Social on Little Portland Street. Which is also exciting.
Full details of both events can be found here.
