And Finally Artist News
Yeah, I’m posh, says James Blunt. But at least I don’t pretend not to be

James Blunt has hit out at fellow musicians who hide their upper class roots, singling out Damon Albarn in particular.
Commenting on his reputation as a particularly posh musician, Blunt told The Sun: “I was just the only one who didn’t hide my accent. I mean, come on, Damon Albarn, he’s right up there. He’s got an orchard full of plums in his mouth and a silver spoon stuck up his arse”.
He added: “Britain is so obsessed with class. It really needs to let go, because no one else gives a shit”.
Back in 1992, it was Damon Albarn who was complaining that British accents of any type were being lost in British music, saying: “I’m not saying that everyone should put on a fake Cockney accent, but I do feel that our culture is under siege”.
So, really, James Blunt was born in the imagination of Damon Albarn, and now that dream is coming back to bite him. Or something. I really don’t know where I’m going with this.
