BIG'S FAMILY DENY NEW CLAIMS ON TUPAC MURDER
The family of Notorious BIG, aka Christopher Wallace, are strongly denying an LA Times report that claims ‘Biggie’ personally ordered the murder of Tupac Shakur - moving the famous East Coast West Coast Hip Hop saga into a new chapter.

The report claims Wallace offered the Crips gang in Las Vegas $1 million to kill Tupac and that he supplied his own gun to use for the hit. In a statement the Wallace family says: "We are outraged at the false and damaging statements. For the record, Wallace was at his home in New Jersey on the night of Tupac Shakur's murder, with friends who will continue to testify for his whereabouts since he is unable to defend himself."

Friend Junior MAFIA's Lil' Cease told MTV: “Big was in the studio earlier that day, did what he had to do in the studio, then went back home and we watched the [Tyson] fight. We wasn't nowhere near Vegas." He went on to deny the article’s claim that Big had strong ties to the Crips and hired them to act as security guards when traveling to the West Coast. "Chistopher's character was both sensitive and loving," BIG’s mother Voletta Wallace said in a statement. "Not only could my son not have participated in such a crime, but he also wept openly and was desperately saddened at the news of Tupac's death." The Wallace's family are now considering a lawsuit against the Times.

Writer Randall Sullivan, who investigated both rappers' murders for his book ‘Labyrinth’, says he agrees that Crips gang member Orlando Anderson shot Shakur, but they believe Death Row Records CEO Marion ‘Suge’ Knight was behind the crime – and they reckon Suge may have fed the LA Times the latest story to “take some heat off of himself". BIG was, of course, also later killed in the most violent part of hip hops history.

ON SECOND THOUGHTS – COXON PROBABLY IS TO GO
Despite recent denials, the media are now of the opinion that Graham Coxon is on his way out of Blur. Chris Morrison from the band’s management has confirmed the band are ‘in discussion’ with Coxon re his involvement with the band, while Norman Cook, who has produced some of the band’s most recent sessions, told reporters “Graham has left". According to Blur's official website the band travelled to Marrakesh last week "to finish the album" without Coxon's assistance. Coxon himself seemed to be unaware of the trip, telling the NME, "I'm not particularly involved in what's happening with the Blur record now because they're doing a lot of other things and I'm just doing my own record really." That set, titled "The Kiss of Morning," while be the guitarist's third solo album for his Transcopic label.

APPLETONS ON ALL SAINTS
Nicole and Natalie Appleton, whose first single as a duo went in at number two in yesterday’s charts, have been slagging off their former All Saints band mates in the News of the World. They said Mel Blatt and Shaznay Lewis called them "dollybirds" and said the songs they wrote were unsuitable. "Every time we were in the newspapers for going out partying they didn't like it,” Natalie told the paper, “They didn't let us do anything in the end. We were banned from going to parties and stayed at home."

"They felt they were the musical ones,” Nicole added, “We were able to do a couple of songs, but what we wrote wasn't appropriate for All Saints - that's what we were told. Anyway, we've written our album 'Aloud', and our single's going to be Top Five, which we're really happy about." Despite their chart success, ‘Fantasy’ isn’t a great single and the duo are unlikely to surpass Shaznay’s classic pop songs with their current offerings.

CHEZ COBAIN FOR SALE ON WEB
The childhood home of Kurt Cobain - 14 Fleet Street South, Montesano in Washington - is being auctioned on eBay. Cobain lived in the house at between the age of 11 and 15 with his father and stepmother. Blatantly cashing in on its famous former resident, the agents selling the property claim many of Kurt's songs were inspired from his times in the area. The sales blurb reads: "The inspiration for lyrics of many of his songs were derived from life in Montesano during these early teen years. Many areas of the house have not been changed since Kurt lived here." The reserve price for the sale of the property is $200,000, though the actual value of the property is more in the region of $60,000.

GLASTONBURY NEIGHBOURS PROTEST
Micheal Eavis’ neighbours are claiming compensation for intrusion and crime suffered during this year's Glastonbury event. The side effect of tougher security at the event was that many people without tickets were turned away and headed for the nearby village of Pilton. Several homes there were broken into and some families claim it was so frightening they were forced to stay indoors until it was all over. Eavis has admitted mistakes and has written to everyone living in the village saying he will do all he can to prevent similar problems in future. Mendip Council will this week review whether festival organisers lived up to their licence conditions – 40 local residents have forwarded complaints, among them Vernon Blyth. He told the BBC: "When you feel there is an invasive element in your home and garden then I think it raises concerns to a different level." Eavis has said he is talking to police, security chiefs and fencing contractors about security issues and that a 2003 festival would not take place if he was not convinced the problems faced by local people could be overcome.

NON-EXISTANT BAND CHRISTMAS NUMBER ONE FAVOURITES
Bookmakers are tipping the boyband created by ITV's Popstars The Rivals, which began on Saturday night, to be Christmas number one this year – the first time they’ve given favourite odds to a band that doesn’t exist yet. The TV show will create both a girl and boy band – viewers will then vote which is the overall winner of the series. But both groups are likely to get lucrative record deals, and industry insiders reckon the show’s bosses will get debut singles from both finalists out for the Christmas market. Bookies reckon the Postars boyband will be victorious in the chart battle whether or not they are the overall winners of the TV show. The series’ girl band are second favourites, with Pop Idol runner up Gareth Gates in third place. Sean Boyce of Ladbrokes told the BBC: "We haven't seen them, we certainly haven't heard them, but having had our fingers seriously burnt by both Will and Gareth topping the charts, we've got no choice but to make the boys red-hot favourites to blitz their rivals in the race for Christmas number one."

NO MINOGUE CHART BATTLE
Kylie has put back the release of her next single a week to avoid clashing with the release of sister Danni’s next track. Kylie’s ‘Come Into My World’ and Danni’s ‘Put The Needle On It’ were both set to be released on 28 Oct. But The Sun has reported Kylie plans to put her release back to 4 Nov.
