1Xtra to take its big live bash to Liverpool
By Chris Cooke | Published on Monday 1 August 2016
The BBC’s 1Xtra has announced that it will stage its annual 1Xtra Live event in Liverpool this year on 8 Oct. Now in its ninth year, the BBC station is promising “the hottest line-up in urban music” with its latest Live event, which will take place inside Liverpool’s Echo Arena. We’ll see, I guess.
Says Radio 1 and 1Xtra Controller Ben Cooper: “The energy and excitement of ten thousand fans, the hottest UK artists and the biggest international acts, will make 1Xtra Live one of the best gigs of the year. We know there is a massive appetite for new music in Liverpool so we knew we had to bring our biggest event to the city”.
While 1Xtra DJ A.Dot adds: “This year has been a big year for urban music and with a crowd like Liverpool, 1Xtra Live is set to be one of the biggest nights of the year”.
