Andrew Harrison steps down as Q Editor
By Andy Malt | Published on Friday 12 April 2013
Andrew Harrison has stepped down as editor of Q Magazine, just fourteen months after replacing Paul Rees (who left after a decade at the top of the music title).
Saying the Harrison had left “to pursue other interests”, Q publisher Bauer announced that former Closer Editor Jane Johnson had been brought in as a consultant editor, saying in a statement: “Bauer remains focused on developing Q’s editorial proposition to increase the brand’s relevancy for mainstream music fans with a view to building exciting new properties out of a strong magazine product”.
This brings to an end Harrison’s second stint as the magazine’s chief, he having briefly worked in the role in 2000. He was previously involved with Smash Hits and Mixmag, and joined Q from a position as Editor-At-Large at Word.
