Boardmasters final day cancelled due to “extreme weather conditions”
By Andy Malt | Published on Monday 11 August 2014
The final day of the Boardmasters festival in Cornwall was cancelled yesterday “in light of the extreme weather conditions caused by hurricane Bertha”, organisers said in a statement.
Initially it was announced that the opening of the third day of the annual surfing themed event would be delayed. However, as conditions failed to improve, the event day was called off at 12.30pm. The day was due to be headlined by Bastille, with Peace, George Ezra and 2manydjs also on the bill.
Announcing the decision, organisers said: “Our guests, staff and performers’ safety is our main concern and we have decided that the magnitude of the conditions is too severe for the arena site to be opened”.
Details of how to claim refunds are due to be published on the Boardmasters website early this week.
