Busted and McFly announce announcement

The Busted reunion is possibly the most hotly anticipated reunion in pop. Possibly. And it’s coming, people. Possibly. Though, with Charlie Simpson still a hold out, Matt Willis and James Bourne have had to seek out a worthy replacement. And the replacement they’ve chosen is… McFly.

Yes, according to invites that went out yesterday, “the ultimate pop supergroup” will announce their “plans for 2014” at a press conference at the Soho Hotel in London on Monday. And they’ve even managed to get Emma Willis to host the press launch.

Willis (Matt) and Bourne recently joined McFly on stage at the Royal Alert Hall in September to play through a few Busted hits and a couple of McFly ones too, so this is probably some sort of extension of that.

The actual ultimate pop supergroup, by the way, would be Janelle Monáe and A-ha. But for now, this will do:
