Other notable announcements and developments today…
• Social network for music whatnot thingy you know etc Crowdmix has only gone and put its bloody app live in the Android and iOS stores, but it’s invite-only for now.
• Creamfields has unveiled its staging set up for this year, which it’s calling Steel Yard. “This living, breathing behemoth redefines festival production as we know it” says the festival. It does look pretty impressive.
• James Blake has collaborated with illustrator Quentin Blake (no relation, we’re told) – best known for his work illustrating Roald Dahl books – to create artwork around his upcoming new album ‘The Colour In Anything’. Teaser murals have been put up in London and New York.
• Eddie Vedder and Beyonce have recorded a cover of Bob Marley’s ‘Redemption Song’ as the b-side for a Pearl Jam fanclub single. It may well be a recording of this performance.
• Foxes has released the video for ‘Cruel’, from her latest album ‘All I Need’.
• Kyla La Grange has a new single out. Here’s ‘Hummingbird’.
• Beverly Knight has announced her latest album, ‘Soulsvilles’, will be released on 10 Jun. From it, this is ‘Middle Of Love’.
• Mitski has released another track from her upcoming ‘Puberty 2’ album. This is ‘Happy’. She’s also announced dates for the UK and Ireland in September and October.
• The organisers of Coachella have announced a new smaller scale event, Desert Trip. Taking place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California on 7-9 Oct, it’ll feature performances from The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Roger Waters and The Who.
• Entries are now open for this year’s AIM Independent Music Awards. The deadline is 24 May. The ceremony will take place on 6 Sep at The Brewery in London.

• Take your David Bowie vinyl outside.
