Lana Del Rey

Other notable announcements and developments today…

• Lana Del Rey’s ‘Big Eyes’, the title song to a forthcoming Tim Burton biopic of artist Margaret Keane, is online, albeit not very officially. And so is another track from the movie, ‘I Can Fly’, which will apparently play over the end credits. Stream both via the appropriate links, please.

• Clark has made a 34 minute megamix of excerpts from ambient man Brian ‘The Brain’ Eno’s big recent re-release package, featuring rearranged bits of Eno LPs ‘Nerve Net’, ‘The Shutov Assembly’, ‘Neroli’, and ‘The Drop’. Here it is!

• Psych-rock missionaries Moon Duo have said this week that they’ll release a new LP titled ‘Shadow Of The Sun’ soon, via Sacred Bones. I said ‘soon’, I meant 2 Mar 2015. Get acquainted with lead track ‘Animal’ here.

• Salt-of-the-earth artist Matthew Houck, aka Phosphorescent, is releasing a new three-disc concert LP titled ‘Live At The Music Hall’, which dates back to the time he and a seven-piece band (and string section) played four shows last December in Brooklyn. It’s released on 16 Feb via Dead Oceans. Sample one of its many tracks ‘Los Angeles’, now on SoundCloud.

Save The Children’s Christmas Jumper Jam is set to take place at Union Chapel in Islington this very evening. Who’s playing? Editors, The Charlatans, Andy Burrows, The Subways, Bear’s Den, and Rhodes, that’s who, with Lauren Laverne hosting the whole thing. What’s that, you’re unable to leave your house tonight? A likely story. Well, you’ll be able to livestream the show here.

• Susanne Sundfør’s new album ‘Ten Love Songs’ is already pencilled in to be one of my albums of 2015. Out in February, it’s pretty stunning. That adjective could also be applied to Sundfør’s live show, which you’ll be able to catch when she plays The Lexington in London on 3 Mar 2015. Tickets for that are here. Now, before we go, here’s the new video for recent single ‘Fade Away.

• Canadian singer and Drake collaborator Partynextdoor (not his real name) will be over here in the UK to play some shows in April next year. You want tickets, yes? Well they’ve not gone on sale yet, but here’s where to get them when they do tomorrow at 9am.

• Menace Beach will release their debut album, ‘Ratworld’, on 19 Jan. What would you do in a situation like that? That’s right, go on your first headline tour of the UK. Good thinking. But Menace Beach already had that idea, look. And here’s one of the songs they’ll be playing, ‘Blue Eye’.
