And Finally
Dolly and the baby on the doorstep

Dolly Parton has been talking to the Windy City Times about the more unusual fan-based events that have taken place in her long career, and recalls a day in 1974 when a fan left a baby on her doorstep.
Coming in the year when ‘Jolene’ and ‘I Will Always Love You’ were proving to be big hits for the country star, Parton told the paper: “We came home one day and there was a baby in a box at our gate with a note in it. The note said: ‘My name is Jolene, my momma has left me here and she wants you to have me’. Of course, we all freaked out!”
She continued: “We immediately called Human Services and took care of the baby until they got there. We never did know or hear anything about it … what do you do in a situation like that? There are some loony people in this world!”
