George Michael possibly heads back to rehab

You can’t beat a good bit of sweetened rehab to go with your prison sentence, that’s what I always say. So it would make sense for popular druggy George Michael to spend a few days in a rehab facility following his recent four weeks living at Her Majesty’s pleasure.

Which is why no one was at all surprised when the singer emerged from his London home on Tuesday morning and told the assembled media types parked in the street outside, who were all waiting for George to do something interesting (well, maybe not interesting, but definitely something), that he was rehab bound.

He told The Sun: “I want to beat my drug addiction and lead a normal life. I don’t want to end up back in prison. It’s a very horrible place to be. You’re not considered a person when you’re inside, you’re just a number and that freaked me out. I have done wrong and paid my time for doing this stupid crime and I want to get my life back on track”.

But then Michael’s partner, Kenny Goss, returned to their home shortly after and denied rehab was on the agenda, describing speculation that Michael had just left for some sort of treatment centre as “nonsense”. Later in the day he returned to the still-waiting throng so inform them that George was simply “relaxing”.

But fear not, “George is in rehab” speculators. The tabs have found an unnamed source, who frankly could have been anybody, who said: “If he said he was going into rehab, we have no reason to disbelieve him”. Which is officially the least useful thing a source has ever said, unnamed or otherwise.

Of course, it’s possible that when George said “rehab” he meant “chill out” rather than lock himself up in some over priced treatment centre for celebrities.
