International Music+Sound Awards winners announced

Following its UK-specific counterpart in February, the winners of this year’s International Music+Sound Awards for music and sound design in film, TV and advertising have been announced this morning. And, quite rightly, the use of Roachford’s ‘Cuddly Toy’ in the opening titles of ‘Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa’, was named the Best Use Of Sync in a feature film.

Commenting on the initiative as a whole, awards co-founder Dan Neale said: “We’re really proud to be the first dedicated music and sound awards anywhere in the world. We have now inspired organisations, magazines and other awards programmes to raise their game and take composers, supervisors, sync teams and sound designers seriously by recognising their achievements. While it’s not mission complete for us – there are definite signs that our awards have had an impact”.

And here are all those winners, who’ll be formally celebrated with a party at Plage Goeland in Cannes on 20 Jun:
