Interpol confirm fifth LP, Tile Porn
By Aly Barchi | Published on Friday 6 June 2014
Post-rock’s main gloom-harbingers Interpol have a fifth LP incoming, the band’s first following a gap of four long years.
The record in question is titled ‘El Pintor’, which is Spanish for ‘The Painter’, AND clearly an anagram for ‘Interpol’, since seemingly neither ‘Tile Porn’, nor ‘Loner Pit, nor indeed ‘Pert Loin’ fitted the bill. Pity.
Set to be released on 8 Sep, it features in the main Interpol’s core trio Paul Banks – who plays bass in addition to guitar and vocals for the first time – Samuel Fogarino and Daniel Kesler, with The Secret Machines’ Brandon Curtis, Beck/Air keyboardist Roger Joseph Manning, and Bon Iver’s Rob Moose also guesting.
