MAMA appoints new CEO
By Chris Cooke | Published on Monday 3 February 2014
Following the confirmation last week that MAMA & Company co-founder Dean James was permanently departing the London based live firm, on Friday it was announced that Rory Bett had been appointed as the company’s new CEO.
Bett has been with MAMA since 2008, launching first the company’s brand partnerships business and then its event production agency, which are now known respectively as MAMA Brand Partnerships and MAMA Productions, having originally operated under their own brand names. Bett became Group Commercial Director for MAMA in 2012, and joined the board after a management buy out took the company back into independent ownership after three years operating as part of HMV.
Confirming Bett as the new CEO of MAMA, the company’s Chairman Richard Thompson told CMU: “Under Rory’s leadership I have no doubt MAMA & Company can realise its full potential. His enthusiasm is contagious which along with his depth of industry knowledge, commercial expertise plus the energy and drive he brings to the role, makes him perfectly placed to lead the business into a new era”.
As previously reported, James stood down as CEO of MAMA last August somewhat suddenly.
