Marr doesn’t say much about Smiths reunion rumours
By CMU Editorial | Published on Monday 15 December 2008
Johnny Marr has said not a great deal about rumours doing the rounds that, because he and Morrissey are speaking, The Smiths will reform. The guitarist told 6Music that he hasn’t “really given it much thought”. So that’s the big news of the day.
He was also spoke about his work remastering that previously reported new Smiths compilation, saying: “I think everyone was glad that I stepped up to the breach. I didn’t have to do it, it could have come out anyway – but I just felt like it was doing a disservice to the band and the people who were buying the records”.
“Over the years there have been releases of the records and I wasn’t happy with the way they sounded. So I rolled my sleeves up and fixed that, and I’m pretty happy with the way that turned out”.
