New appointments at SoundExchange
By Chris Cooke | Published on Wednesday 18 February 2015
SoundExchange, the collective licensing body that administers the compulsory licence that covers the use of sound recordings on satellite and internet radio in the US, including Pandora-style streaming services like, well, Pandora for one, has appointed a new VP Strategic Initiatives and a new VP Communications. Fingers crossed they’ll get to collaborate, because I think we all love strategic communication initiatives.
The former appointee is Mark Eisenberg, who comes to the organisation from the licensee side, having most recently worked for Nokia-then-Microsoft-then-Line-owned MixRadio (though before that he was in legal at Sony Music). VPing some comms will be Jacqueline Peterson, who joins from the live side of the music industry, most recently working for Live Nation.
Confirming the hires, SoundExchange CEO Michael Huppe told reporters: “I’m extremely excited to welcome Mark Eisenberg and Jacqueline Peterson to our team. Their collective experience in the music industry is immeasurable. Both have proven track records of strategic leadership and helping the industry succeed. SoundExchange is only as good as the people who work for it and we pride ourselves on attracting the best talent. With these new additions, our team is stronger than ever and poised to achieve even greater success in 2015”.
