In the midst of his rather long farewell tour, Elton John has confirmed that his autobiography will be published this October via Henry Holt & Co.

The musician took to the tweets to declare that “my life has been one helluva rollercoaster ride and I’m now ready to tell you my story, in my own words. My first and only official autobiography will be released October 2019”.

The publisher confirmed that the book will be launched on 15 Oct and is already available for pre-order, even though its title is TBC.

John first confirmed he was writing his memoirs – what is promised as a “no-holds-barred account” – back in 2016. At the time he said: “I’m not prone to being a nostalgic person. I’m often accused of only looking forward to my next gig or creative project. It’s come as quite a surprise how cathartic I am finding the process of writing my memoirs”.

“As I look back”, he went on, “I realise what a crazy life I have had the extreme privilege of living. I have grown up in a period of extraordinary change in our world – and have had the joyful honour of rubbing shoulders and working with so many of the people at the heart of these changes”.
