Phones4u to sponsor Manchester Arena

Phones4U Arena

The Manchester Arena has been renamed the Phones4u Arena, because what rockstar wouldn’t want to play in a shed named after a crappy phone seller? Though they all gladly play in a tent named after a crappy phone network I suppose. Ah, the modern world.

The retailer has signed a five-year deal with SMG Europe, which owns the Mancunian arena. The venue has been without a headline sponsor since 2011 when local newspaper the Manchester Evening News ended more than a decade’s association with the building.

A spokesman for Phones4u said: “Phones4u has signed a five-year deal with SMG Europe, the company that owns the arena, and everything including the venue, website and tickets will be re-branded with our name on it”.

He added: “Phones4u customers will get access to exclusive competitions over the coming months, giving you the chance to win tickets to some of the best events around. We’ll also be featuring the partnership in upcoming #projectupgrade campaigns, so make sure you keep an eye open for this”.

Nope, I don’t know what that means either.
