By Chris Cooke | Published on Monday 3 February 2014
Sony Music last week further expanded its eee-deeee-emmm team in London with the appointment of Toby Andrews to the role of Senior Manager, International Electronic Music Marketing. He joins the major from PR firm Get In, where he worked on various dance festivals and acts during a five year tenure that began with an internship.
Confirming the new hire, Sony Music’s Adam Granite told Billboard: “We are thrilled Toby is joining us at Sony Music. As we continue to focus on the EDM genre, he is a perfect addition to our team. I have no doubts he will make an immediate impact with several key releases over the next few months from around Europe”.
As previously reported, just over a year ago Sony forged an alliance with US dance label Ultra Music to enhance its EDM credentials, with Ultra founder Patrick Moxey becoming the major’s President, Electronic Music. Also confirming Andrews’ appointment, he added: “Toby is one of the best in the industry at dance marketing and his experience comes from firsthand success in breaking new and established artists. We welcome him to our team”.
