Temptations’ Richard Street dies
By Andy Malt | Published on Friday 1 March 2013
Former temptations singer Richard Street has died, aged 70. Doctors found a blood clot in his lung last Friday after he complained of back pain and breathing difficulties. His death comes just days after another former member of The Temptations, Damon Harris.
Confirming his death, his wife Cindy Street told CNN: “He was really fighting for his life. He’s a fighter. They’re dancing up there in heaven, him and Damon. I’m in disbelief right now. He was part of black history. He was always proud of that. He sang on a lot of those classic songs: ‘Papa Was A Rollin Stone,’ ‘Hey Girl’, ‘Heavenly’, ‘Superstar’, ‘Masterpiece'”.
A funeral will be held in Cypress, California next week.
