The-Dream leaves Def Jam
By Aly Barchi | Published on Friday 10 January 2014
R&B smooth-o The-Dream, aka Terius Nash, has waved ‘adieu’ to his long-time label love Def Jam, with whom he’s worked as an artist, songwriter and producer since 2007.
Ending his and the Universal division’s nearly seven year affair via Instagram, Nash added this pic of the Def Jam logo, typing: “I will miss this logo. It all started here! Love everything that I achieved there, EXODUS THE-DREAM #exodusthedream”. Exodus The-Dream.
Seemingly harking back to the time he self-leaked his ‘Terius Nash 1997’ album in protest at label delays on his ‘Love IV MMXII’ record, he added: “Creativity! My own time my own way. Just me and spat my engineer at the time. No label at all! Perfect”.
Oh right. Looks like he won’t ‘miss this logo’ that badly, after all.
