US publisher Reservoir makes another UK acquisition

New York-based music publisher Reservoir has announced the acquisition of UK-based publishing firm P&P Songs, bringing over a thousand pieces of pop to its catalogue.
The deal follows Reservoir’s purchase last September of UK-based Reverb Music, and P&P’s British songwriters will now be supported by Reverb’s London office, led by MD Annette Barrett. Meanwhile Reservoir’s US division will seek opportunities for P&P creators in America.
Confirming the new deal, Reservoir Exec VP Rell Lafargue told CMU: “P&P has long been associated with prolific pop music writers and iconic catalogues alike. Absorbing the catalogue and focusing our creative energy on opportunities for each songwriter allows Reservoir to do what we do best – market, develop, and otherwise support incredible talent and hit songs”.
Meanwhile Peter McCamley and Paul Flynn, who founded P&P seven years ago, added: “From our first conversations with Reservoir it was clear that they share our vision of music publishing, where creativity is matched by business insight and strategy. We are both proud of what we have achieved at P&P, and being able to transfer our catalogue and writer agreements over to a similarly respected, creative, and hardworking independent publisher in Reservoir was extremely important to us. We trust that their team will provide the P&P roster with the continuing attention and support such songwriters deserve”.
