Vigsy’s Club Tip: Fabric Re-opening
By Paul Vig | Published on Friday 6 January 2017
Following a legal battle to get its licence back, and having been shut down since the summer, Fabric re-opens this weekend. And it all starts tonight with a mysterious and intriguing event.
Going under the title ‘Fabric Friends & Family’, tonight has no published line-up for its eight hour duration. But rest assured, it’ll be worth attending. The support for Fabric during its closure was vast, and I reckon it’s safe to say there will be some big names along for the ride.
Coming days after the inquest into the second drug-related death that led to the closure of the club, Fabric’s management issued a statement prior to this weekend’s reopening reiterating the venue’s reinforced anti-drugs policy. It’s probably also worth acquainting yourself with the new door policy – don’t turn up without ID.
The debate around making clubbing safer for everyone will no doubt continue this year, and Fabric is sure to a key player in that, meaning we can benefit in multiple ways from the London club staying in business. And tonight is sure to be a fitting celebration of that.
Friday 6 Jan, Fabric, 77a Charterhouse Street, London, EC1M 6HJ, 11pm-7am, £25. More info here.
