Warner takes complete ownership of Roadrunner
By CMU Editorial | Published on Thursday 11 November 2010
Warner Music has announced that it now completely owns rock label Roadrunner Records, having had a majority stake in the company since 2007.
A memo circulated to staff yesterday said that, despite now being a wholly owned subsidiary of the major, Roadrunner would continue to operate as a stand alone unit headed by founder and CEO Cees Wessels.
That said, some jobs are expected to go as back-office departments at Roadrunner’s HQ in the Netherlands are merged with equivalent units in the Warner Music Group.
