We Love Pop announces Primark partnership
By Chris Cooke | Published on Wednesday 8 May 2013
Good news for fans of pop music and dirt cheap clothing, some of it made in fatally dangerous conditions (the clothes, not the pop music).
We Love Pop magazine has announced an alliance with Primark which will not only see the pop mag sold in the budget clothing stores, but also offer customers t-shirts featuring images of Jessie J, Justin Bieber, The Wanted, The Saturdays and/or Little Mix, all of which will come with the added extra of access to an online ‘design your magazine cover’ widget.
Says We Love Pop Publisher Siobhan Galvin: “Many of the artists in our magazine appeal to Primark’s demographic so they are a perfect partner for the brand and magazine. We’re excited to be the first magazine to be sold in Primark and look forward to this being the start of a long-standing relationship”.
The partnership has been spearheaded via Universal’s Globe division and also involves the mega-major’s Bravado merchandising company.
Commenting from their side, Universal’s MD of Creative & Commercial Partnerships Marc Robinson told CMU: “We strongly believe in the We Love Pop brand here at Universal Music and this partnership with Primark and Bravado is a great phase in its development. We Love Pop is an exciting world that we will be building on in the next few months with further initiatives and partnerships with the aim of exciting the consumer and engaging our artists”.
