A judge in New York has ruled that 50 Cent can continue to use his lawyer Brett Kimmel on that previously reported legal dispute with his ex-girlfriend, despite the fact that she claims Kimmel has a conflict of interests because she approached him about hiring his services herself back in 2005.
Shaniqua Tompkins claimed she spoke to the lawyer about child support, palimony and her financial interest in 50 Cent's movie, 'Get Rich or Die Tryin' three years ago, and so argued that Kimmel has a conflict of interest in the current case.
But Kimmel denies having an attorney-client relationship with her and argues that it's irrelevant, and the judge, Carol Edmead, agreed, saying Tompkins conversations with Kimmel back in 2005 have nothing to do with the current case, which is over whether to freeze insurance money from Fiddy's house in Dix Hills, where Tomkins was living, and which was burned out in a previously reported fire back in May.
