50 Cent sues Taco Bell

50 Cent is suing Taco Bell for $4 million over using his name in a value meal promotion without permission, after learning of it from a news report.

50 Cent is suing Taco Bell for using his name without permission. As previously reported, The fast food company wanted the rapper to change his name for a day to 79, 89 or 99 Cent to coincide with a value meal promotion which is making food available at those prices. They also wanted him to go to one of their stores and order some food using his temporary name. Fiddy wasn't impressed with the proposal, or, more so, the fact that they sent it to the media but not him.

The rapper's lawyer, Peter D Raymond, said Fiddy only learned of the letter's existence and that he was featured in the ad campaign when he saw a news report about it and is now seeking $4 million in damages.

A spokesman for Taco Bell, Rob Poetsch told reporters: "We made a good faith, charitable offer to 50 Cent to change his name to either 79, 89 or 99 Cent for one day by rapping his order at a Taco Bell, and we would have been very pleased to make the $10,000 donation to the charity of his choice".

Fiddy said last month: "When my legal team is finished with them, Taco Bell is going to have a new corporate slogan: 'We messed with the bull and got the horns!'"
